Mrs. Viola H. Beane passed away January 22 at her home in Pleasant Ridge. Mrs. Beane was born March 9, 1854, the oldest daughter of Daniel and Olive Rowe Dunton, in Pleasant Ridge. On October 18, 1873 she was united in marriage to Danville L. Beane and to them were born five children, two who died in infancy, Mark Beane of Madison, Frank and Fred Beane, both of Pleasant Ridge. Pleasant Ridge has been her home for nearly 77 years. She was a very active woman, ready to lend a helping hand to everyone in need. Her cheerful disposition has been an inspiration to all who came in contact with her. Funeral services were held at her late home at Fred E. Beane's on Sunday, January 25, at 1:30 p.m. The many beautiful floral tributes showed the esteem in which she was held. She leaves to mourn her passing three sons, before mentioned, and one step-son, Hemon Beane of Norridgewock, also four sisters, Mrs. Lottie Sanborn of Augusta, Mrs. Geo. Clark of Skowhegan, Mrs. Hemon Beane of Norridgewock, Mrs. William Littlefield of Skowhegan, and three brothers, George Dunton of Skowhegan, Waldo Dunton of Moscow, Walter Dunton of Michigan, besides 19 grandchildren, besides several distant relatives and a host of friends. |
